    The Role of Supplier Relation Management on the Development of Sustainable Supply Chain: A Case Study of Roofings Ltd Uganda

    The study assessed the role of supplier relationship on the development of sustainable supply chains a case study of roofing’s, Uganda ltd. The study was guided by the following objectives; To Analyze the impact of collaboration with suppliers on achieving sustainability goals, to investigate the role of supplier development on sustainability in supply chains and to investigate how Supplier appraisal can impact on sustainability at roofing’s Uganda limited. The study used a cross section study design with both Qualitative and quantitative approaches. The study established that generally, the positive impacts of collaboration with suppliers at roofing’s Uganda limited were improved product quality, priority in the use of sustainable materials in its products and improved company's financial performance. The collaboration with suppliers had positively impacting the company’s ability to achieve sustainability goals. However, negative impacts were noted in the minimizing waste and optimizing resource Utilization, this implies that the overall impact of supplier collaboration on the company’s ability to achieve sustainability was moderate. It was concluded that the role of supplier relationship on the development of sustainable supply chains a case study of roofing’s, Uganda ltd is moderate. However, it had contributed to improved company performance. The study recommends that Roofing’s Uganda limited strengthens its supplier appraisal process so as to boost the quality of its products and services.
