    An Evaluation Research on the Impact of Operation Wealth Creation on Poverty Reduction in Mbale District, a Case Study of Bukiende Sub County.

    The study evaluates the impact of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) on poverty reduction in Bukiende Subcounty, Mbale District, Uganda. Prior to the introduction of OWC, 53.4% of households in Bukiende lived below the poverty line, with limited access to formal education, healthcare, and infrastructure, and a heavy reliance on subsistence agriculture. The OWC program, launched as a government initiative to empower communities economically, aimed to address these issues by promoting modern farming techniques, improving agricultural productivity, and fostering infrastructure development. However, OWC faced several challenges, such as poor targeting of beneficiaries, insufficient monitoring and evaluation, late delivery of agricultural inputs, and issues with the quality of distributed materials. Despite these hurdles, the program made significant strides in reducing poverty in Bukiende, though further improvements in its implementation could yield even greater results. The study concluded that poverty is one of the greatest challenges that keep Ugandans backward because Operation Wealth Creation as a program aimed at eradicating poverty in partnership with the government of Uganda. This left a positive impact on the farmers who fully utilized the resources provided by Operation Wealth Creation The study concludes with recommendations that the government should strengthen its economic empowerment programs through carrying out effective planning and follow up at all implementation stages in order to achieve Intended goals and objectives effectively and efficiently which in turn will help to minimize poverty among Ugandans
