    Impact of Drug Abuse on the Prevalnce of Youths Crime in Northern Division, Mbale City

    The study concentrated on the impact of drug abuse on the prevalence of youth crime in Northern Division, Mbale City and it concentrated on the specific objectives of: To find out factors responsible for drug abuse among the youths in Northern Division, Mbale City, to establish the relationship between drug abuse and prevalence of youth crime in Northern Division, Mbale City and lastly to find out measures of containing drug abuse so as to prevent youth crimes in Northern Division, Mbale City. The study used a descriptive research design and it considered and sample size of 86 respondents. Study findings concluded that: Findings concluded that Poor influence is one of the reasons as to why youths get involved in drug abuse, that Ready availability of substances is also a factor contributing to drug abuse, that youth get involved in drug abuse, that if youths who get involved in drug abuse become violent in nature and do not want to associate with others, that there is a relationship between drug abuse and other criminal acts including violent crime, The findings of the study revealed that Providing good quality and advice on the dangers of drug abuse may work as a strategy to reduce drug abuse among the youth , the study finding show that providing family based drug abuse treatment can help solve the problem of drug abuse.
