    (2024-08-27) LYDIA NATASHA MUHEIRE
The study, which examined credit risk management and the financial performance of financial institutions in Uganda, was carried out at the Centenary Bank branch in Mukono. The study aimed to evaluate the impact of credit risk assessment on the financial performance of financial institutions in Uganda, investigate the impact of credit policies on financial performance, and assess the influence of credit risk mitigation strategies on financial performance. A cross-section survey research strategy was utilized, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative methods. Questionnaires were used to gather data, which was then analyzed using the OLS model and SPSS software. The results of the study showed a considerable correlation between financial performance and credit risk management. The study makes an original contribution by suggesting that there is a positive relationship between credit risk management and financial performance of financial institutions. These insights in explaining the relationship is useful for academic understanding and business growth.
