Item Disease Surveillance reporting information system(Uganda Christian University, 2025-11-19) Paul OkurajaA Disease Surveillance Reporting Information System (DSRIS) is a comprehensive, technology-driven platform designed to support early detection, monitoring, and management of communicable and non-communicable diseases. This system streamlines the collection, analysis, and dissemination of health data from multiple sources—including healthcare facilities, laboratories, and community health workers in real time. By integrating automated reporting, standardized case definitions, and analytical tools, the DSRIS enhances the accuracy and timeliness of disease notifications. It enables rapid identification of outbreaks, supports evidence-based decision-making, and strengthens public health responses at local, national, and global levels. Through improved data quality, interoperability, and visualization capabilities, the system contributes to more efficient resource allocation, better coordination among health authorities, and ultimately the reduction of disease burden and prevention of public health emergencies.
