Item Effect of Foster Care Programmes on the Social Well-Being of Children in Watoto Children’s Home Suubi in Kiringete Sub County Mpigi District(Uganda Christian University, 2024-09-17) Rehemah NamubiruThis report was undertaken with the rationale of researching and finding the effect that foster care programs have on the social welfare of the children in Watoto children's home Suubii, Kiringete Sub-county, Mpigi district. The study has been carried out using three objectives, namely: to examine the effect of spiritual development programs on the social well-being of children in Watoto children's home Suubii, to assess the effect of recreational activities on the social well-being of children in Watoto children's home Suubii, to evaluate the effect of education support on the social well-being of children in Watoto children's home Suubii. The researcher used a sample size of 215respondents Results of the first objective showed that spiritual development programmes have a significant effect on the social well-being of children in Watoto children's home, Suubii. Supported by the following responses; majority to the statement that spiritual teachings often emphasize values like kindness, empathy, and compassion Children exposed to these values may develop stronger social bonds and more positive relationships with peers and adults; majority to the statement that practices like meditation can improve focus and concentration, which can benefit academic performance and classroom behaviour. Results of the second objective revealed that recreational activities have a significant effect on the social well-being of children in Watoto children's home, Suubii. Supported by the following responses to the statement that participation in recreational activities promotes physical health through exercise, which can improve overall well-being and energy levels, contributing to more positive social interactions, the highest percentage to the statement that recreational activities provide an outlet for stress and anxiety, helping children manage their emotions better and improving their overall mental health, Results of the third objective showed that quality of education has a significant effect on the social well-being of children in Watoto children's home. There is need Watoto children's home, Suubii to foster community, and moral grounding. As these programs can promote values such as empathy, compassion, respect, and kindness, which are essential for healthy social interactions.
