Abstract

This study examined how the performance of the savings and credit cooperatives in the Nakawa division was impacted by financial management techniques. The study examined how SACCO performance was impacted by cash management, how credit risk management affected SACCO performance, and how financial planning affected SACCO performance in the Nakawa division. A quantitative method was adopted as the research design. There was a sample of 31 respondents. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the quantitative data obtained from a systematic questionnaire used to collect employee information. The study's conclusions showed that cash management significantly improved SACCO performance as well as credit risk management and financial planning. Thus, SACCOs are urged to diversify their assets into various cash-generating ventures and maintain low capital requirements in order to enhance cash management as well as educating people on long-term financial planning strategies and guaranteeing successful loan management by carefully assessing the character of borrowers to improve SACCO performance
