Item Children Ministry Programs and Children’s Spiritual Growth: a Case Study of Rukondo Parish-kitagata Archdeaconry, West Ankole Diocese, Sheema District(Uganda Christian University., 2025-08-09) Nebart KamukamaThis studying explored children ministry programs and children’s spiritual growth at Rukondo Parish C.O.U, West Ankole Diocese. The objectives were; to assess the effectiveness of children ministry programs in promoting children’s spiritual growth. To identify the challenges children ministry programs face in promoting children’s spiritual growth. To explore the most effective strategies in promoting children’s spiritual growth in relation to children ministry programs. A descriptive survey design but cross –sectional in nature, using sample size of 36 participants was used. Simple random sampling and purposive sampling techniques were also adopted and used to select the respondents and data was using a wellstructured and designed questionnaire. The findings revealed that most respondents do not view the children ministry programs as highly effective in promoting spiritual growth with over 70% rating them as somewhat effective or not effective, there is a clear need to re-evaluate and enhance the structure, content, and delivery of these programs to better meet their intended goals. In addition, the findings highlighted those two main challenges facing children ministry programs are lack of resources and volunteer support. These two areas should be worked on to improve the effectiveness of children ministry programs.Lastly, the study reveals that respondents favor a holistic approach to children ministry, emphasizing spiritual growth (Bible study), emotional support and mentorship practice. The study recommends that comprehensive children ministry programs should be developed which include Bible study, prayer and relationships with peers and mentors.Item The Church and Socio-economic Transformation: An Analysis of Poverty Causes, Role of the Church, and Sustainable Interventions in Rwanyanja Church of Uganda, Bugangari Archdeaconry, North Kigezi Diocese(Uganda Christian University, 2025-08-12) William BirungiThis study was conducted on “The church and socio-economic transformation: A case study of Rwanyanja church of Uganda parish, Bugangari Archdeaconry in North Kigezi Diocese. It addresses the problem of persistent poverty with the overall aim of analysing why there is persistent poverty among Christians despite the church’s socio-economic transformation strategies, which included investigating the causes of persistent poverty, analyzing and evaluating the role of the church in socio-economic transformation of Christians and exploring the practical approaches the church can implement to effectively reduce poverty among Christians in Rwanyanja church of Uganda parish. A qualitative approach was employed, with guided questions in the questionnaire to collect information from respondents, interviews, and literature review. Findings on the causes of persistent poverty include: illiteracy/low levels of education, laziness, disease /lack of improved health care facilities, big family size, insufficient cultivation, hopelessness, wrong interpretation of the bible, and high costs of living. The church's role in socio-economic transformation includes: agriculture/coffee growing, preaching, and training, establishing schools, and establishing health care facilities. The challenges facing the church in its attempts to socially and economically transform Christians include: inadequate financial resources, untrained church leaders, lack of market for agricultural products, and lack of improved means of transport and communications technology. The recommendations are that; Church leaders should come out with biblical-based fundamental policies and strategies, equipping Christians with vocational skills, church leaders to cooperate with local leaders, introduce bible studies, encourage parents to send children to schools, resource mobilization programs, partnership with other development partners, promote disease-preventive approaches in their families especially personal hygiene and sanitation and sensitize Christians about the importance of family planning.Item The Role of Mothers Union in Children’s Ministry. A Case Study of Kigarama One C.o.u Parish, Kigarama Archdeaconry, West Ankole Diocese(Uganda Christian University, 2025-08-15) Abias AbahoThe Mothers’ Union plays a vital role in nurturing and shaping the spiritual, moral, and social development of children within the church and community. This study examines the contribution of the Mothers’ Union to children’s ministry, focusing on its programs, teaching approaches, and supportive roles in promoting Christian values among the younger generation. Using both qualitative and quantitative methods, the research highlights how Mothers’ Union members engage in Sunday school teaching, mentorship, and the organization of activities that foster holistic child development. Findings reveal that the Mothers’ Union provides a stable foundation for children’s spiritual growth, moral guidance, and social skills, while also collaborating with church leadership and parents to address challenges such as limited resources and changing societal values. The study concludes that strengthening the capacity of the Mothers’ Union through training and resource provision can significantly enhance the effectiveness of children’s ministry, ensuring that children grow in faith, knowledge, and character.Item The Influence of Female Clergy in Anglican Church of Uganda: With Specific Reference to the Diocese of Kigezi, All Saints Archdeaconry(Uganda Christian University, 2025-08-27) Frank Bindeba AkatuhuriraThe study examined the influence of female clergy in Anglican Church of Uganda with specific reference to the Diocese of Kigezi, All Saints Archdeaconry. It looked at the contributions, challenges and possible solutions to the challenges faced by female clergy in performing their tasks and assignments in the Anglican church of Uganda in the Diocese of Kigezi and especially in All Saints Archdeaconry. The study used cross sectional research design. The qualitative method in data analysis, questionnaires and Interview guides as instruments in data collection were used. The sample size had 31 respondents including 7 female clergy, 6 male clergy and 18 lay Anglican Christians. The study found out that female clergy have significant duties that they play in the growth of the Anglican Church. These roles included: spreading Christianity, being role models, educators and uniting people, the challenges faced included family issues like raising up children, caring for husbands, there was also disunity and lack of time to fully do their work. The solutions to the challenges included having debates, seminars and emphasising education for all. The study concluded that; female clergy promote church growth through spreading Christianity, being role models to other women, fostering unity and cooperation in the church of Uganda especially in the Diocese of Kigezi.Item Anglican Church Andthe Urban Youth Ministry; a Case Study of St. Peter’s Cathedral Deanery, Diocese of Kigezi(Uganda Christian University, 2025-09-03) Evidence Dorothy KwesigaThis research study was on the Anglican Church and urban youth ministry. It is presented in six chapters that are the introduction, literature review, research methodology, data presentation and analysis, and discussion of the research findings and recommendation and conclusion. This research study hinges on problem statement, objectives and research questions of the study. Data was collected and analyzed on the basis of the later and former. The data collected covered the challenges facing Urban Youth ministry in the St. Peters Cathedral Deanery, measures the church can undertake to address the challenges facing youth urban ministry, possible strategies that could be adopted by the church to ensure that challenges facing youth urban ministry were minimized. The researcher used questionnaire, interview, and personal experience which he administered on different persons whom he arrived at using sampling techniques. Data was grouped and analyzed using tables, frequencies and percentages to come with the respondents and interviewees views on the research questions and objectives of the study. It was against these that the research findings in chapter four were discussed in chapter five and recommendations to address the urban youth ministry and finally conclusions made. The research findings showed that there was urban youth ministry as evidenced by the activities such as youth workshops, youth Sundays though there was a gap for the implementation of urban youth ministry which contributes much to the development of the church. The church has however tried to put up some measures to address the challenges such as youth conferences, youth Sunday programs, preaching youth with the gospel, and sensitizing parents. The study defines youth as individuals below 35 years, aligning with both church policies and broader age classifications, including those aged 13 to 19 and up to 35. It highlights that youth play active roles in church activities, such as leading worship, teaching, and participating in outreach programs, which help foster spiritual vitality within the church community. The study utilized questionnaires, interviews, observations, and personal experiences to gather data from church leaders, youth members, and wardens, employing purposive and stratified sampling techniques. It focused on understanding the current roles of youth, the opportunities available for their role, and the challenges they face in contributing to the church’s spiritual development. The findings reveal that despite their potential, youth role at Buhoma Church is often limited or hindered by various factors. Ultimately, the research aims to identify best practices and remedies to enhance youth participation in spiritual growth activities. It emphasizes the importance of creating inclusive opportunities for youth to engage actively in church life, which lead to stronger spiritual development both within the church and the wider community. The study advocates for improved strategies to address the challenges faced by youth, ensuring their meaningful participation to the church’s spiritual vitality.Item Covid-19 and Moral Degeneration Among the Juveniles: A Case Study of Nyanga Church of Uganda in Kyakabunga Archdeaconry, North Ankole Diocese(Uganda Christian University, 2025-09-06) Patrick NatwijukaThe purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of COVID-19 on moral degeneration among juveniles in Nyanga Church of Uganda, Kyakabunga Archdeaconry, North Ankole Diocese. The study was guided by three objectives; to examine the impact of COVID-19 on moral values among juveniles in Nyanga Church of Uganda, to identify the factors contributing to moral degeneration among juveniles during the COVID-19 pandemic and to explore the coping mechanisms employed by juveniles to maintain moral values during the pandemic. This study employed a qualitative method research design. The study included descriptive research where both primary and secondary data were collected. The sample size of the study was 120 respondents. The study concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic significantly disrupted the traditional moral support systems for juveniles, particularly schools and churches, leading to increased vulnerability to immoral behavior. The style of parenting, degree of community engagement, and availability of spiritual and social guidance during this period played a critical role in either aggravating or mitigating moral degeneration. Based on the findings, the following recommendations were made; Parents should be encouraged through church programs and community forums to adopt authoritative parenting, which balances discipline with warmth, communication, and guidance and Churches should encourage families to maintain regular home-based devotions and spiritual instruction. Even in times of public restrictions, churches should distribute devotional materials, create family prayer guides, and offer support to parents as moral educators.Item Revival and Its Legacy: Acase Study of the East African Revival Movement in Bugangari Archdeaconry North Kigezi Diocese(Uganda Christian University, 2025-09-10) Lewin NimusiimaThe East Africa Revival Movement (EARM) has significantly influenced many Protestant churches in Eastern Africa for years. It has renewed their spirit and challenged individuals to seek a deeper experience of salvation in Christ, along with a stronger commitment to Christian discipleship and evangelism. Despite the presence of other revivals in the region, the Revival Movement has played a vital role in the growth of the church in East Africa. This report focuses on Bugangari Archdeaconry within the North Kigezi Diocese. The parish faces significant controversies among Christians regarding the values, beliefs, and practices of EARM. This study aimed to investigate how EARM teachings, beliefs, and practices affect evangelism and the spiritual lives of Christians in Bugangari Archdeaconry. Specifically, the study sought to accomplish the following objectives; To explore how the East African Revival Movement influenced the spiritual life of Christians in Bugangari Parish. To identify the challenges posed by the East African Revival Movement in Bugangari Parish. To suggest strategies the church can implement to address these challenges related to the East African Revival Movement in Bugangari Parish. The area of study consists of five churches within the parish, namely Bugangari, Rwanyanja, Burembo, Kitunguru, and Nyakariro. The report is organized into six chapters: introduction, literature review, methodology, data presentation, theological reflection and discussions, summary, and conclusion. The research findings indicate that EARM has affected the church’s efforts to nurture Christians both socially and spiritually. However, those associated with EARM, known as Barokole, have different spiritual practices in their beliefs. The researcher recommended strategies to enhance the beliefs and practices of EARM among the Christians of Bugangari Archdeaconry. The findings also suggest that Christians are familiar with Barokole, or born-again Christians, and they have observed the movement’s effects on their spiritual lives through their feedback. Additionally, the researcher proposed further study on EARM beliefs and practices and encouraged the church to adopt strategies that address the spiritual challenges facing their congregation.Item The Anglican Church Land Registration in Nyaruhanga Archdeaconry, Kigezi Diocese, Kabale(Uganda Christian University, 2025-09-18) Moses Bashaija MusinguziThis study investigates the status, processes, and challenges of Anglican Church land registration in Nyaruhanga Archdeaconry, to enhance land security and proper management within the Church of Uganda. The research examines the extent to which church land has been documented, the legal frameworks guiding land registration, and the institutional capacity of church leadership in managing land-related issues. Data were collected through interviews, analysis of documents, and field observation involving clergy members, lay leaders, and local government administrators. The results show that significant amounts of church land are unregistered mainly because of poor legal knowledge, limited finances, and challenges related to historical ownership. Besides these factors, encroachment and customary land use have increased the risk of disputes and loss of property. The research recommends actions aimed at capacity building of church leaders, collaboration with government land offices, and establishment of a centralized land registry at the diocesan level. Successful land registration is paramount in the protection of church property as well as the enhancement of sustainable development in the Nyaruhanga Archdeaconry.Item Holistic Child Ministry and Church: A Case Study of Emanuel Rubaya Church of Uganda Parish, Rukore Archdeaconry, Diocese of Kigezi(Uganda Christian University, 2025-09-18) Apollo TwikirizeThe purpose of the study was to examine the impact of holistic ministry on the church at Rubaya Church of Uganda Parish. It was guided by three objectives namely; to examine the contributions of holistic children ministry to the Church at Rubaya Church of Uganda Parish, to find out the challenges hindering the holistic development of children ministry at Rubaya Church of Uganda Parish and to explore the possible ways through which holistic children ministry can be improved at Rubaya Church of Uganda Parish. The research design applied both qualitative and quantitative methods to data collection and analysis. A cross-sectional design was applied. A sample size of 36 respondents was determined through purposive and random sampling methods. The study concludes that, children ministry programs have a significant effect on children’s spiritual growth and this effect is mainly through bringing children close to Christ, spiritual nourishment, helping children relate to Bible teachings, improving moral as well as depending on the understanding of Christian faith. The study recommends that Emmanuel Rubaya church of Uganda Parish to improve the children ministry programs to, promote the overall church growth and there’s a need for church to introduce and implement new Sunday school curriculum that is friendly and meets the needs of children.Item Premarital Counseling and Family Stability in Anglican Churches in Nkungu Parish, North Ankole Diocese(Uganda Christian University, 2025-09-19) Herbert ArihoDetermining the impact of premarital counseling on family stability was the main goal of the study, which focused on couples from Nkungu parish in the North Ankole Diocese. This included investigating the relationship between couples' family stability and emotionally focused counseling, the relationship between couples' family stability and cognitive behavioral counseling, and the relationship between couples' family stability and relationship counseling based on the Guttmann model in Nkungu Parish, North Ankole Diocese. In order to investigate the effect of premarital counseling on the stability of families in Nkungu parish, North Ankole, this study used a cross-sectional design and combined quantitative and qualitative methodologies. The researcher recommended some strategies that can help the church, government, parents, and church leaders to implement holistic child ministry for example developing curriculum for Sunday school, training children teachers, and parents acting as role models to children among othersItem The Effect of COVID 19 Pandemic on Christian Marriage in Rwemikoma Archdeaconry, North Ankole Diocese(Uganda Christian University, 2025-09-27) John GumisirizaThe study was done to examine the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on Christian marriage in Rwemikoma Archdeaconry, North Ankole Diocese. The study was guided by a particular purpose to ascertain the signs of marriage breaking up in Rwemikoma Archdeaconry, the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on Christian marriage in Rwemikoma Archdeaconry, and to advise on probable ways of strengthening Christian marriages in Rwemikoma Archdeaconry. The investigator employed a cross-sectional design and used a random sample of 50 respondents from two parishes that had varying levels of church membership and leadership. Information was collected by using interview schedules and questionnaires from the primary and secondary sources. The study concluded that economic strain, communication breakdown, emotional abandonment, and adultery were the primary indicators of failed marriages in Rwemikoma Archdeaconry, and these were worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic. The lockdown and closure of churches due to the pandemic had a negative effect on Christian marriages by escalating existing marital problems and limiting access to spiritual counseling. The survey also discovered that some of the most effective strategies for bolstering Christian marriages in the region include the development of economic empowerment initiatives, mentoring for young couples, and the expansion of church based counselling services, which can start spiritual development in families. According to the report, the church should start preventive programs to monitor and support marriages, start family restoration initiatives after the epidemic, and train clergy in trauma-informed pastoral care. The church should also offer systematic premarital and marital counselling, as well as financial empowerment and mentorship for Christian couples, in order to promote stable marriages.Item Church Leaders and Domestic Violence in Kitojo Parish Nyabiteete Archdeaconry North Kigezi Diocese(Uganda Christian University, 2025-10-03) Ronah AkatukundaDomestic violence has continued to spread all over the world and stands to be a challenge affecting many individuals, families, nation and the church at large like in Katojo Parish, Nyabiteete Archdeaconry, North Kigezi Diocese. This problem has led to the division in spiritual beliefs. Social norms and institutions. This research topic aims to explore many different aspects that church leaders play in addressing domestic violence within their congregation. This study seeks to identify both the challenges and opportunities in creating a safe and supporting evil for the victims of domestic violence and with findings will contribute to a better understanding of how religious institutions can effectively address this issue, promoting the wellbeing and safety of all members with church community.Item Church Leadership Structure and Spiritual Growth in the Anglican Church of Uganda: Case Study in South Ankole Diocese, Rukoni Archdeaconry(Uganda Christian University, 2025-10-28) Esau NinsiimaIn the course of this research, "Church Leadership Structure and Spiritual Growth in the Anglican Church of Uganda a case of South Ankole Diocese, Rukoni Archdeaconry" was inspected and the aim was to measure the participation of youth and women in church matters, the challenges of the church leaders, and the ways to improve leadership and inclusiveness in the church. A mixed-methods technique was employed, and the researchers managed to get data from 171 individuals through the use of distributed questionnaires and interviews. Among the most significant outcomes were that the church has youth who are active participants to the extent of 30% and women are involved to 23%, while the main hindrances are lack of training (25%) and poor youth participation (22%). The research advocates for the increase of leadership training workshops (37%), the promotion of inclusive policies (backed by 72%), and the opening up of avenues for youth and women to be involved in the church through mentorship and resource support which, in turn, would lead to holistic spiritual growth and sustainable church development.
