Item Factors Affecting the Growth of the Urban Churches of the Diocese of Lweru with Special Reference to Rubungo Parish in Muleba District(Uganda Christian University, 2023-08-16) Anold Edward EbyakagonzaThis study examined the factors affecting the growth of the urban Churches of the Diocese of Lweru with special reference to Rubungo Parish in Muleba District. The objectives of the study were; to determine how the church growth influence Rubungo Parish in D/L, to identify the growth of the church of Rubungo Parish in D/L and to find out the factors that affect the church growth of Rubungo Parish in D/L. Both qualitative and quantitative designs using a sample of 50 respondents was adopted. Simple random sampling and purposive sampling techniques were used to select the respondents and data was collected using well designed structured questionnaire and interview guide. Findings revealed that 47.1% of the respondents said that listening and ready to learn from others who have succeeded is the only way how the church growth can influence Rubungo Parish in the Diocese of Lweru. It was also indicated that 23.5% of the respondents identified good leadership as the growth of the church of Rubungo Parish in the Diocese of Lweru. In addition, findings also indicated that 23.5% of the respondents said that conflicts in Church is a factor that affects the church growth of Rubungo Parish in the Diocese of Lweru. In conclusion, the findings of the study indicated that listening and ready to learn from others who have succeeded is the only way how the church growth can influence Rubungo Parish in the Diocese of Lweru. Good leadership is the growth of the church of Rubungo Parish in the Diocese of Lweru. In addition, conflicts in Church are a major factor that affects the church growth of Rubungo Parish in the Diocese of Lweru. The study recommends that the Rubungo Parish should focus on listening and learning from others who have succeeded in Church growth as the only way to influence the growth of Rubungo Parish in the Diocese of Lweru. The study also recommends that there should be good leadership in Rubungo Parish that can stimulate the growth of the church of Rubungo Parish in the Diocese of Lweru. In addition, there should be strict mechanisms of conflicts resolution in the Church in a bid to foster church growth of Rubungo Parish in the Diocese of Lweru.Item A study on the effects of the scientific theories of creation on the Christians of Victoria Nyanza Diocese: A case study of Mwanza Archdeaconry(Uganda Christian University, 2023-08-16) Peter Albinus AloysDue to the rise of scientific arguments which are spreading rapidly in all corners of the world and Mwanza region which is allocated North West of Tanzania has not been left out by this wind. In Tanzania, studies that put a lot of emphasis on scientific theories of creation have been given priority and it has happened that a big number of people in this area have come across and learnt these scientific theories of creation, not only learn but also believe in them. Meanwhile less effort has been made by Christians to refute them and this state has led many people in Victoria Nyanza Diocese to believe in the scientific theories of creation. This research used questioners, interviews, books, websites and articles in gathering information; and from these, this study explored and brought into light the effects of scientific theories of creation. This paper concluded by designing a strategy for a mission that will enable the church tackle the problem.Item The Effect of Poverty on Church Growth Among the Christians of Kikangahara Parish Bunyoro Kitara Diocese(Uganda Christian University, 2023-08-17) Daniel BiryomumeishoThe study was about the effect of poverty on church growth among the Christians of Kikangahara Parish, Bunyoro Kitara Diocese. The magnitude of poverty among the Christians was high and the effect to combat the misery by the church is inadequate and this predicted to be much appealing in future. The objectives of the study are to find out the level of poverty, cause and to examine the effects of poverty on the Christians who live in Kikangahara parish, Bunyoro Kitara Diocese. The methodology used was to find out how far people have undergone through this suffering of poverty. The research had designed by the qualitative nature. The research had formulated questionnaire which will be administered to the respondents and the researcher use also interviews and observation process to gather the data and also used different books written by people about the causes and the effects of poverty. The problem of poverty has caused a dilemma to the Christians due to its rampant increase in spite of various strategies being put in place. As Christians we need to work together and transform poverty through the power of the Holy Spirit and the gospel. Therefore, the problem of poverty requires immediate investigation that appropriate measures can be administered by the Church and come up with correct solutions to fight poverty.Item The Role of the Church in the Promotion of Good Governance: A Case of Kanoni Archdeaconry in North Ankole Diocese(Uganda Christian University, 2023-08-17) Richard ArinaitweThis study was conducted to investigate the role of the church in the promotion of good governance in Kanoni Archdeaconry. The specific objectives of the study were to investigate the role of church mobilization, participation in politics and human rights advocacy in the promotion of good governance. Data from was collected using a questionnaire and an interview guide, analyzed descriptively and presented in frequency counts and percentages. The findings show that the involvement of the church in political mobilization, elections and human rights advocacy had positive consequences on governance and service delivery. The study concluded that the church can be a good change agent regarding governance, but needs to be cautious so that politics does not rob them of their role of winning souls for Christ. Hence, the study recommended further investigation into the factors affecting church involvement in politics and how the church can balance secular governance and the promotion of the ideals of the Kingdom of God.Item An Assessment of the Role of Mothers’ Union in the Children’s Ministry: A case Study of Kasindaga Deanery, Lweru Diocese, Anglican Church of Tanzania(2023-08-17) Innocensia BijobwaThis study discussed the role of Mothers’ Union in the Children’s ministry in Kasindaga Deanery, Diocese of Lweru, Tanzania. The objectives of the study were: to examine how Mothers’ Union Members engage in the children's ministry activities in Kasindaga Deanery, Diocese of Lweru, to examine the reasons why sometimes Mothers’ Union members fail to fulfill their roles in the children’s ministry in Kasindaga Deanery, Diocese of Lweru and to come up with recommendations to ensure that the Mothers’ Union objective of effective children’s ministry is achieved in Kasindaga Deanery, Diocese of Lweru. A cross-sectional study design using a sample of 50 respondents was adopted. Findings revealed that 76% of the respondents said that the Church prays for the children through the Mothers’ Union members. It was also established that 46% of the respondents said that Mothers’ Union members sometimes fail to fulfill their roles in the children’s ministry due to the drought which causes a shortage of food. In addition, 66% of the respondents said that the Church should strengthen the good teachings of the Bible about the children and teach good faith by example to ensure that the Mothers’ Union objective of effective children’s ministry is achieved in Kasindaga Deanery, Diocese of Lweru. The study recommends that Mothers’ Union must get training on how to lead children in a Godly way. Mothers’ Union in Kasindaga Deanery, Diocese of Lweru need to develop the church membership and begin discipleship classes for children. In addition, there should be a mass sensitization about the need for effective children’s ministry in Kasindaga Deanery, Diocese of Lweru so that the members of Mothers’ Union and congregants can actively participate in children’s ministry.Item An Investigation of the Church’s Response to Teenage Pregnancies: A Case Study of Kiyunga Archdeaconry, Central Busoga Diocese.(Uganda Christian University, 2023-08-28) Moses MugoloThis study investigated the Church’s Response to Teenage Pregnancies: A case study of Kiyunga Archdeaconry, Central Busoga Diocese. The study was guided by three specific objectives; to assess the causes of teenage pregnancies in Kiyunga Archdeaconry Central Busoga Diocese; to assess the effects of teenage pregnancies on the people of Kiyunga Archdeaconry Central Busoga Diocese, to find out how the church has responded to the problem of teenage pregnancies in Kiyunga Archdeaconry Central Busoga Diocese. The study employed a cross sectional design both purposive and simple random sampling procedure were used to select respondents. A sample size of 160 respondents was used including Mothers Union members, Fathers’ Union members, Lay Readers, Teachers, and Church community members whose views were investigated using questionnaires, and focus discussion guides. The findings revealed that teenage pregnancies are a real challenge in Kiyunga Archdeaonry. The causes range from poor parenting, covid-19 lock down, poverty and teenagers not fearing God, among others. The effects include; Dropping out of school and others like Death cases, Early marriage, Poverty, Conflicts and depression, Health problems, Poor child care, Dropping out of church among others. The Church has intervened in different ways such as formation of ‘Ekisagati’ for youths, Sensitizing them about PIASCY messages and different society issues and how to maneuver around them, teaching them new income generating projects to avoid being idle and many more, but more needs to be done, especially Fellowships with parents to be encouraged to realize their parental roles in nurturing the youths through proper and exemplary parenthood and emphasizing mindset shift from child/ early marriage to proper education as emphasized in Proverbs 13: 24, 29:15, 22:3, 30:7-17.Item An Assessment of the Level of Involvement of the Ordained Church Ministers in the Healing and Deliverance Ministry in the Diocese of Lango(Uganda Christian University, 2023-09-08) Calvin NguraItem The Role of Church Leadership in Bridging the Gap Between the Youth and the Elderly Among the Churches in Southern zone, Terego Archdeaconry, Madi and West Nile Diocese(Uganda Christian University, 2023-09-12) Andabati ApolloThe study aimed at assessing the role of church leadership in bridging the gap between the youth and the elderly among the churches in southern zone, Terego archdeaconry, Madi and Westnile diocese. The study was guided by the following objectives: identify the causes of misunderstanding between the youth and the elders in southern zone parishes, discuss what the Bible says about the youth, identify the challenges faced by the Church in bridging the gap between the youth and the elders in southern zone parishes and suggest suitable methods of bridging the gap between the youth and the elders. The study adopted qualitative and quantitative research methods. Quantitative method was used to collect, and analyze numerical data, which was used to measure the scale, range, and frequency while the qualitative method was used to collect and analyze non-numerical data such as texts. The study used a sample size of 52 respondents from 12 churches, 4 parishes. The study findings revealed that church failed to help the youth to unite with the elders and it looked at the strong youth leadership as a threat and thought it was going to turn the church into Pentecostal movement as major cause of misunderstanding between youth and elders. Findings on the Bible and the youth included the following; in the Bible, church taps in the potentials and desires of the youth to hold and grow them and Bible teaches the church on how they can grow the youth in a Godly and the right path. Another one finding on the challenges faced in bridging the gap between the youth and elders included the following; difference in education background and lack of knowledge. Lastly findings on practical steps to bring unity between youths and elders included the following; church elders sit together with youth to iron out issues, and conflict resolution be given much attention in the church today. The study recommended the following; church to start up some projects, farming and skilling programs on their land. This provided youth with skills and employment. It reduced the problem of unemployment and poverty and among the youth, leaders were encouraged to start some church activities that kept the youth engaged. Such activities included; sports, outreaches, youth day out and Bible related competitions. They are going to help the youth grow in God and also keep them busy not to get involved in ungodly activities and church leadership setup a committee and clear guides that are going to be followed when solving the differences between the youth and leaders. This will help the youths/elders to know where to go when they have differences and can be solved.Item The State of Contemporary Music in Worship at Oraba Parish Koboko Archdeaconry Madi West Nile Diocese(Uganda Christian University, 2023-09-15) Alioni Yona KokoaABSTRACT The study of this topic has given solutions to the challenges caused by contemporary music in Anglican worship at Ora’ba parish Koboko Archdeaconry. The majority of the respondents of 50% indicated that there will be need for church to pray for and impose the Canonical laws in order to address some of these issues like poor dressing, hairstyles, and other artificial body modification copied from window shopping which is practiced by the youths. Then 20% of the respondents viewed indicated that, the Pastor or Church Teacher is the worship leader which include music so he is to plan together with choir to be aligned with the texts and theme for a particular occasion while 15% of the respondents viewed suggested that the modern amplified musical instruments should be replaced with low sound traditional instruments for instance drums, shakers among others. Another 10% of the respondents suggested that the Church today should revisit the Anglican liturgical format in order to maintain orders in worship and instill spirituality in the worshipers. Lastly, 5% suggested that singing of Psalms in a worship service should be made mandatory.Item Relevance of Anglican Liturgy to the Youth in Mombasa Memorial Cathedral, Diocese of Mombasa in the Anglican Church of Kenya(2024-02-02) Joseph Salim RamadhanThe research report is a scrutiny of how relevance is the liturgy influence youth and church growth in the Mombasa Memorial Cathedral, Diocese of Mombasa. Contrary to the normally held view that there is no liturgy form of worship in the church that can influence youth to come to church. The different forms of worship in the service meet different needs and bring satisfaction to the different categories in the church through liturgy. When needs of people who is the congregant is met, then there is a high probability of that member to bring or reach-out to another member and enhance the church growth. In this study, literature was reviewed as written from other contexts other than the geographical scope of study. This includes what is liturgy, what form liturgy, what is church etc. in addition, the literature review focuses on how liturgy meets felt needs and also how liturgy bring impact to the church growth. After this study it is recommended that al pastors should deliberately plan for growth, having studied the target-community needs; and so designing their liturgy service to meet them.Item The Significance of Inculturation of Liturgical Worship: A Case of Ack Christ the Healer Cathedral, Homabay(Uganda Christian University, 2024-04-18) Wade Janes OnyangoThe purpose of this study was to explore the significance of liturgical inculturation in the ACK Diocese of Southern Nyanza, Christ the Healer Cathedral- Homabay. The reason for this study was that regardless of the efforts that have been made in recent years by African theologians and the clergy to explain to the local people the significance of liturgical inculturation in the Church of Kenya, some Christians both Anglicans and non- Anglicans still do not appreciate their own heritage and thus view liturgical inculturation as ungodly and demonic. To supplement efforts made by African theologians and the clergy on the subject of inculturation, this study was designed to shed some light on the benefits of liturgical inculturation. The objectives of this study were: To explore the meaning of inculturation of liturgy; to establish the benefits of incorporating some culture into the liturgical worship at the Christ the Healer Cathedral; to suggest the best recommendations for the inculturation of liturgical worship at the Cathedral. To fully understand the subject of inculturation, this study reviewed literature from across the globe. This study used qualitative methods of data collection and analysis. The data was collected through one on one interviews, focus group discussion and observations. The study involved four churches making up the cathedral parish. 100 respondents were sampled through purposive and simple random sampling. The major findings of this study are that: liturgical inculturation is vital because it enables the local people to be part of the liturgy and when people are part of the liturgy, they can own the celebration. The areas that have been inculturated at the Christ the Healer Cathedral are: Entry procession, Music and Dance, Bible procession, Language, Gesture and Symbols, Baptism nd Harvest. Lastly, the findings have revealed that liturgical inculturation is beneficial to the local people because it has closed up the gap between faith and culture. The implications of the findings are that the local people enjoy worshipping God using symbols and gestures that are known to them unlike using foreign symbols. In conclusion, this study has revealed that liturgical inculturation has benefited the local people in Homabay because worshippers are now participants in worship because the gospel message has been brought home.Item The Role of Reverend Canon John Rujoki in the Revival Movement in Kanoni Arcdeaconry(Uganda Christian University, 2024-06-20) Asaph AmanyaThis study examines the life and ministry of Rev. Can. John Rujoki, focusing on his methods, achievements, and challenges in the revival movement in Ankole, Uganda. Using a qualitative research approach, the study utilizes historical analysis and content analysis of primary sources to assess Rujoki's methods in evangelism, community engagement, and spiritual growth. The achievements of Rujoki are evaluated through a comparative analysis of the impact of his ministry on the Church and community in Ankole, before and after his leadership. Additionally, the study investigates the challenges faced by Rujoki, including barriers to Church growth, cultural and societal resistance, and theological complexities. Findings reveal that Rev. Can. John Rujoki employed various methods in the revival movement, including personal evangelism, the door-to-door movement, lifestyle evangelism, and a focus on prayer and Bible study. These methods were characterized by a deep commitment to sharing the gospel, building relationships, and fostering spiritual growth among believers, demonstrating his holistic approach to ministry. His achievements in the revival movement are multifaceted, encompassing spiritual renewal and growth, community transformation, Church planting and development, leadership and mentorship, unity and collaboration, and a lasting legacy of faith. Despite facing significant challenges, including difficulties in Church expansion, impact of modern trends like the prosperity gospel, challenges posed by Pentecostalism, sustainable Church growth, and issues of relevance and identity faced by African Independent Churches, Rev. Can. John Rujoki's resilience and commitment to spreading the gospel were evident in his lasting impact on Ankole. The study concludes that Rev. Can. John Rujoki's methods were instrumental in achieving significant milestones in Ankole, and recommends that Churches should continue emphasizing these methods and the values he embodied to sustain the impact of the revival movement.Item The Role of Religious Leaders in Promoting Environmental Awareness to the Congregation in the Ayami Parish, Diocese of Lango(Uganda Christian University, 2024-06-24) Moses OgwalThis research study delved into the pivotal role of religious leaders in fostering environmental awareness within their congregations. It investigated their influence, strategies, and challenges in addressing environmental issues, recognizing their significant impact on shaping attitudes and actions toward the environment among followers. Drawing from a rich tapestry of religious beliefs and practices, the study aimed to shed light on the tactics employed by religious leaders to integrate environmental concerns into religious teachings and activities. Through a qualitative multiple case study approach, the research focused on Ayami Parish within the Diocese of Lango, specifically examining the strategies utilized by Christian religious leaders. Findings revealed the diverse initiatives undertaken by religious leaders, including integrating environmental themes into sermons, organizing educational programs, and leading by example. However, they also confronted various challenges, such as resistance to reform, conflicting interpretations of religious doctrine, and limited resources. Despite these obstacles, religious leaders remained steadfast in their commitment to promoting environmental awareness and seek to inspire congregational engagement in environmental conservation efforts. The study's conclusions offer valuable insights for policymakers, community organizers, and environmental advocates, facilitating the development of tailored strategies to encourage environmental consciousness and action within religious communities. Through further exploration of the complex interplay between religion and environmentalism, scholars aimed to advance their understanding of sustainable practices and foster a more inclusive and sustainable future.Item Chaplaincy Services on the Students’ Indiscipline at All Saints University Lango(Uganda Christian University, 2024-06-27) Tobby OgwalThe study aimed at assessing the Effect of Chaplaincy services on the students’ indiscipline at All Saints University Lango. The study was guided by the following objectives: identifying the chaplaincy services at a Christian University, assessing the moral values of students at All Saints University Lango, and determining the Biblical principles for chaplaincy at All Saints University Lango. This study used a descriptive research design with a qualitative method of data analysis. Non-probability sampling designs, specifically judgmental Sampling was used to select respondents. The Self-Administered Questionnaire, interview guide and review of documents were used as instruments of data collection. The findings in terms of fellowship, Bible study, and counseling reveals that there is a high level of fellowship, Bible study, and counseling services that the chaplain provides to the students, staff and community members while; the state on moral values of students, it was revealed that students still have moral problems, and on the Biblical principles for chaplaincy, it was revealed that the Chaplain imitate compassion to students during discussion. This implies that chaplaincy services positively influence the state of indiscipline at the University.Item A Critical Study of the Place of the Church in Active Politics: A Case of Kagera Diocese(Uganda Christian University, 2024-06-28) Anceth Faustine KanyawawaThis study explored the complex relationship between politics and the Church, concentrating on the Kagera Diocese. It aims to broaden our comprehension of the Church's involvement in active politics by carrying out an extensive case study and analyzing the potential and problems it faces. Using historical, theological, and modern viewpoints, the research tackles the long-running controversy about the Church's engagement in politics. It aims to offer light on the scope of the Church's political participation, its effects, and possible ways to increase it through an examination of many literatures and stakeholder perspectives. The findings of this research shed light on the diverse perspectives within the Church community when it comes to political participation, revealing both positive and negative impacts that arise as a result. In conclusion, the study aims to offer insightful information to persons in Kagera Diocese and beyond, theologians, Church leaders, and lawmakers, resulting in a more knowledgeable and impactful relationship between the Church and the political sphere.Item Polygamous Marriage and Traumatic Experience in Entebbe Archdeaconry(Uganda Christian University, 2024-07-02) Evas NsasiirweThis study examined the effect of polygamous marriage on traumatic experience in Entebbe Archdeaconry. The objectives of the study were; to examine the prevalence of traumatic experiences among women in polygamous marriages in Entebbe Archdeaconry; to assess the psychological experiences of children raised in polygamous households in Entebbe Archdeaconry, and to examine what the Church is doing to address the challenges faced by women and children in polygamous marriages in Entebbe Archdeaconry. A descriptive survey design but cross sectional in nature, using a sample size of 52 participants was adopted. Simple random sampling and purposive sampling techniques were used to select the respondents and data was collected using well designed structured questionnaire and interview guide. Findings revealed that women face physical abuse in polygamous marriages, 96.2% of the strongly agreed on the claim. It was also established that children in polygamous households experience a higher incidence of family conflicts and 88.5% of the respondents strongly agreed on the claim. In addition, it was established that Churches collaborate with local authorities to provide holistic support to affected women and children in polygamous marriages and 78.8% of the respondents agreed on the claim. In conclusion, the findings of the study revealed that women in polygamous marriages experience significant emotional distress, physical abuse and inferior treatment for first wives, highlighting the need for urgent interventions. It also found that children in these households face insecurity and higher family conflicts, affecting their psychological well-being. Churches are actively addressing these challenges through awareness campaigns, support networks, and collaboration with local authorities, emphasizing the importance of community-based support. The study recommends that that there is need to establish counseling and support services specifically tailored for women in polygamous marriages to address emotional distress and physical abuse. There is also need to implement psychological support programs and counseling for children in polygamous households to help them deal with feelings of insecurity and family conflicts. In addition, there is need to strengthen Church-led initiatives such as support networks and awareness campaigns to continue addressing the harmful effects of polygamous marriages on women and children.Item The Attitude of the Christians of Allsaints Town Church Masindi-Kitara Diocese Towards Eucharist (2014–2024)(Uganda Christian University, 2024-07-08) Christopher MunguacielThe Eucharist, also known as Holy Communion or the Lord’s Supper, holds a central place in Christian worship and theology. This research paper aims to explore the attitude of Christians towards Eucharist. By analyzing Biblical teachings, historical development, and contemporary practices, this study seeks to shed light on the wide array of attitudes that Christians hold towards this Sacrament. This research investigates the potential factors influencing these attitudes, including theological traditions, historical context, cultural backgrounds, and personal experiences. The study finds that Church traditions, scriptural interpretations, and theological discourses play significant roles in forming and shaping Christians attitudes towards the Eucharist. To achieve the goal of this study, a comprehensive literature review was conducted, covering primary sources such as the Bible, early Church writings, and contemporary scholarly works.Item The Role of Pastoral Counselling in Restoring Hope in Broken Homes and Families. A Case Study of Okole Parish, Lira Urban Archdeaconry, Diocese of Lango(Uganda Christian University, 2024-07-09) Amos KodwoThis study explored the experiences of individuals from broken homes and the potential of faith based interventions in restoring hope and wellbeing. A survey was conducted among members of a church community, with 51 participants. The findings indicate that a majority of the respondents were male (62.7%) and young-to-middle aged (most frequent age group: 25-35 years). Church attendance was high, with 96.1% reporting attending church for over 5 years. Youths comprised the largest group within church positions (37.3%). The research suggests positive views on pastoral counseling for broken homes. Respondents showed the highest agreement (mean score of 4.29) with the statement that pastoral counseling is a key principle used by counselors. The data also highlights the challenges faced by individuals from broken homes, with the highest mean score (4.45) for agreement that living in a broken home negatively impacts mental health. Notably, while various coping mechanisms were reported, seeking counseling and support had a lower mean score (3.57) compared to self-care (3.96) and communication strategies (3.76). In conclusion, this study highlights the potential benefits of pastoral counseling in supporting individuals from broken homes. Further research with a larger sample and exploring reasons for not seeking counseling is recommended. Churches can consider tailoring programs to this population's needs. Future research areas include long-term effectiveness of pastoral counseling, influence of religious denomination, and exploration of available social and economic support systems.Item Integration of ICT in the Improvement of Church Worship: In the Anglican Church of Uganda(Uganda Christian University, 2024-07-11) Grace Tendo NamuggaThis study aimed to investigate the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in church worship within the Diocese of Central Buganda. Specifically, the research examined the impact of digital projections and social media platforms on church music, gospel preaching, and Bible study. Additionally, the study focused on the development of an online gospel music database to enhance the effectiveness of church music, preaching, and Bible study, as well as the design and validation of a worship application to streamline church worship processes. Employing a cross-sectional survey research design with an exploratory approach, the study utilized both primary and secondary data sources. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 25, The findings revealed that the integration of projectors into church worship significantly enhanced the accessibility and security of information while fostering connectivity across multiple platforms. Notably, the development of the "CoU Praise App" emerged as an innovative outcome of this research. This Android-compatible application seamlessly integrated with various social media platforms, aiming to augment church worship experiences within the Anglican Church and beyond. In conclusion, this study underscored the importance of adopting and integrating ICT in church worship to elevate its quality and effectiveness. It reveals the psychological, spiritual, and societal effects of false teachings on believers and their communities, by carefully analyzing the false teaching techniques (Matt. 7:15). It looks at the ways that false teachings might arise and lead parishioners to confusion, divisions, and spiritual vulnerability. The study also looks into how false teachings affect the integrity and solidarity of the Kabanga Deanery and how they affect programs for community development, pastoral care, and leadership. It intends to enrich pastoral initiatives that promote theological clarity, spiritual discernment, and ethical stewardship within the Diocese of Kagera by offering insights into the effects of false teachings in that particular area. Chapter one serves as an introduction where, among others, includes the reason why this is an important study in our diocese. Chapter two gives a clear picture of how things were before coming of Christianity in the present Diocese of Kagera. It also looks at the four leadership periods of four Bishops so far. Chapter three investigates the current state of false teachings in the Diocese of Kagera. It also looks at the effects of false teachings, including conflicts and divisions in the church, deception and confusion, manipulation and exploitation, among others. Chapter four examines what originally causes false teachings to the extent that many Christians, specifically of this time find themselves prone to them. Fifth chapter looks at the summary of all chapters, that is, from chapter one to five. It also looks at what should the church do to mitigate false teachings.
