Abstract

Even though financial technology (fintech) and agency banking have grown quickly in Mukono, many households still face challenges when trying to use these services. A lack of digital skills makes it hard for many people to use fintech effectively (Mkombo & Wahua, 2024). Additionally, concerns about the reliability and safety of services offered through agency banking can prevent users from fully engaging (Huo et al., 2024). There is also a shortage of financial products specifically designed for the local community, which further complicates the situation. Because of these issues, the relationship between fintech adoption and service quality is not well understood, making it difficult to see how these factors affect financial inclusion. This study aims to explore how adopting financial technology influences service quality in agency banking, offering insights that could improve user engagement and access to financial services for households in Mukono.
