The The study is based on Mathew 14:13-31, the role of the church in the development of St. Peter’s Kokwomurya community diocese of Sebei Kapchorwa district. With a focus on the themes of Jesus’ compassion, divine provision, faith and doubt, and Christ’s authority over creation. The study will show how these themes provide a theological framework for understanding the church’s mission in rural development. Using St peter’s church as a case study the research examines how the church has been involved in addressing the needs of the community of kokwomurya, particularly in relation to education, health, and social services. The study employs a qualitative research approach by using thematic analysis of Matthew 14:13-3, to bring the biblical insights into the role of the church in development. Primary sources include the bible, commentaries and other theological works. This study is expected to show that St. Peter’s church kokwomurya consistency with the biblical themes of compassion and divine provision, has significantly contributed to the development of kokwomurya community through various initiatives. It will also outline key challenges faced by the church such as limited resources and socio-political barriers, while offering recommendations for enhancing its developmental role.
