Abstract This study investigated the contribution of leadership style on employee performance within the Industrial Division of Mbale City. The research specifically aims to achieve three objectives: firstly, to identify the various leadership styles employed by the management of the Industrial Division; secondly, to determine the impact of these leadership styles on employee performance; and thirdly, to propose management solutions to enhance employee performance within the division. Utilizing a mixed-method approach, data was collected through surveys and interviews with employees and management staff within the Industrial Division. The findings reveal a significant relationship between leadership style and employee performance, highlighting that certain leadership approaches, particularly transformational and participative styles, are more effective in enhancing employee motivation, job satisfaction, and overall performance. Conversely, autocratic and laissez-faire styles were found to negatively impact employee morale and productivity. Based on these findings, the study recommends a strategic shift towards more inclusive and adaptive leadership practices to foster a more productive and engaged workforce in the Industrial Division of Mbale City. These insights provide a foundation for policymakers and management to implement leadership development programs aimed at optimizing employee performance and achieving organizational goals
