The study sought to examine the effects of online bidding on organizational performance in government entities: a case of Mukono District Local Government (MDLG). The study was guided by three objectives: examining the relationship between electronic advertising and organizational performance in MDLG, establishing the relationship between electronic bid submission and organizational performance in MDLG, and determining the relationship between electronic bid evaluation and organizational performance in MDLG. The study was carried out using descriptive correlational research design where both quantitative and qualitative research approaches were utilized. Questionnaires were used to collect data from a sample of 52 lower-level employees of MDLG, whereas interviews were conducted with the key informants who are top management of MDLG. The results indicated that electronic advertising (r = 0.636**, p < 0.05), electronic bid submission (r = 0.674**, p < 0.05) and electronic bid evaluation (r = 0.605**, p < 0.05) had strong relationship with organizational performance while using online bidding in Mukono District Local Government. The results show that these practices boost transparency, efficiency, fairness, supplier involvement, and accountability in procurement activities, which ultimately results in improved procurement outcomes and overall performance in MDLG. Finally, the study suggested that electronic procurement systems should be strengthened and fully institutionalized in MDLG through the improvement of evaluation processes as well as improving the accessibility of the electronic procurement systems, ICT infrastructure and capacity building of staff and suppliers. The improvements are hoped to enhance transparency, improve efficiency, be fair, ensure active participation of suppliers and improve accountability in procurement activities leading to improved organizational performance in Mukono District Local Government.
