dc.description.abstractThe study was establishing teenage pregnancy on girl’s ability to continue with school a case study of upper kauga Mukono district. The study was guided by objectives which were to find out the causes of teenage pregnancy, the effects of teenage pregnancy on girl’s ability to continue with school and the methods to minimize teenage pregnancy. The study was carried out using a descriptive research design which helped in finding ideas on how to overcome teenage pregnancy whereas qualitative research approach was used in getting people’s ideas from which would enable draw conclusions. A sample size of 30 respondents who had experienced the same issue was interviewed. The researcher used different research instruments which included questionnaires, Observation and interviews to collect data. From the findings, it was revealed that low self-esteem and risk taking behaviors maybe be the leading causes of teenage pregnancy therefore with this teenage pregnancy affects the girl’s ability to continue with school. The study recommended the need for comprehensive sexual education as one of the most effective ways to prevent teenage pregnancy. It also recommended there should be more increase of access to contraceptive services where by it will help in preventing unintended teenage pregnancies.
