dc.description.abstractThis study highlights and talks about the effect of aging on elderly welfare. The objectives of the study included; to explore the dimensions of aging, establish the effect of aging on social welfare and examine the effect of aging on economic welfare. This study employed across sectional design and mixed methods approach. The data collection methods that were used included; survey, interviewing method and documentation .The findings revealed that 72.4% of the respondents were aged 65-75 years of age, secondly, most of the respondents (53.3%) engaged in social activities that is cultural events and 47.2% benefited from family support. Possible recommendations included; strategizing education programs, strengthening of existing support networks and formulating of government programs that meet elderly needs.
