Abstract

In contemporary Christian society ministry, individuals from diverse professional backgrounds often feel a call to serve God. Many professionals, such as teachers, medics, engineers, and lawyers, have embraced ministry without proper guidance, leading to gaps in service delivery as they hastily leave their professions in response to their call. This speed to leave everything without proper guidance can result in challenges and gaps in service delivery within various sectors. Matthew 4:18-20 narrates the calling of Peter and Andrew, fishermen who left their nets to follow Jesus. This passage serves as a foundational text for understanding the concept of responding to Jesus' call. However, the circumstances of their call, their immediate response, and the factors that may hinder someone from leaving everything to follow Jesus remain subjects of inquiry. The study intends to provide a deeper understanding of the challenges and significance of individuals responding to Jesus' call from various professional backgrounds. Through this exploration, the study hopes to contribute to a better understanding of how individuals can effectively respond to Jesus' call in their professional and personal lives, ultimately enriching Christian ministry and service delivery.
