| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of youth empowerment programs on HIV reduction control in Budadiri Town Council, Sironko District. Using a cross-sectional research design and a sample size of 63 out of a population of 75 respondents, as determined by Slovin’s formula, the study uncovered significant relationships between different types of empowerment programs and HIV reduction. The analysis revealed a significant relationship between economic empowerment programs and HIV reduction, with an R-squared value of 0.009, indicating a notable, though modest, influence on HIV reduction behaviors. Similarly, social empowerment programs were found to have a significant relationship with HIV reduction, as indicated by an R value of 0.174 and an R-squared value of 0.030, pointing to some positive impacts on community attitudes and youth involvement. However, the study also found limitations, with substantial skepticism remaining among respondents regarding the effectiveness of these programs. The investigation of academic empowerment programs showed a significant relationship with HIV reduction, supported by a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.292 and an R-squared value of 0.021, suggesting a moderate impact on HIV prevention knowledge and safer behaviors. The study concluded that while each type of empowerment program exhibited some positive effects, their overall impact on HIV reduction was limited. The recommendations include integrating economic, social, and academic empowerment efforts to create a more comprehensive approach, enhancing program content and delivery, and addressing gaps to improve engagement and effectiveness in HIV prevention among youth. | |
