Abstract
The purpose of the study was to assess the effect of education qualification and youth
employment in Uganda. This study was guided by the following research questions: What is
the relationship between education qualification and youth employment rate in Uganda?
What is the extent skills provided by universities match with the demands of the labor
markets? What are the social and economic factors that led to youth unemployment in
Uganda?
Uganda Christian university was used as a case study to be specific graduates of school of
business were considered.
A survey research design was used with a quantitative approach.
When assessing the guiding questions, these are the key findings. Education qualifications are
necessary to in order to get employed and these qualifications should be in line with your
career goals. Skills provided by the university match with the demand I the labor market due
to the initiative by the university to change teaching methods with change in the demands.
Social and economic factors greatly affect youth unemployment since due to factors like
economic instability.
