Item The Impact of the Aids Healthcare Foundation Program on People Living With HIV/AIDs in Masaka District(Uganda Christian University, 0024-09-19) Jackline NakatoThe study aimed at examining the impact of the AIDS Health Foundation (AHF) Program on the well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS in Masaka District. It specifically focused on; establishing the influence of ARVs’ supply on the well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS, examining the influence of testing services on the well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS and finding out the influence of education and counseling on the wellbeing of people living with HIV/AIDS in Masaka district. The study was carried out using an explanatory research design where both quantitative and qualitative research approaches were also used. The data was collected using questionnaires and interviews during the data collection, both purposive and simple random sampling methods were used. A sample size of 80 respondents who are adults aged 18-60 years with HIV/AIDS in Masaka and the health practitioners from AHF Uganda was also used in the study. From the findings, it was revealed that AHF's ARV supply, testing services, and education/counseling programs in Masaka district have received predominantly positive feedback. Respondents reported improved health outcomes with ARV programs, citing easy access and reliability, although some concerns about ARV quality were noted. Testing services were praised for accessibility, confidentiality, and effectiveness in promoting early diagnosis and treatment. Education and counseling were seen to empower individuals, enhance knowledge about HIV management, and mitigate emotional challenges, though areas for improvement in comprehensive patient needs were identified. Overall, AHF's integrated approach positively impacts wellbeing and health outcomes for people living with HIV/AIDS in Masaka district. Lastly, the study recommended that AHF Uganda should focus on improving ARV supply quality and consistency, enhancing HIV testing service accessibility and confidentiality, and integrating comprehensive education and counseling programs in Masaka district. By ensuring rigorous monitoring of ARV quality and supply chains, expanding outreach efforts for testing services, and diversifying educational and counseling support, AHF can enhance patient confidence, promote early diagnosis and treatment, and improve overall health outcomes effectively.Item The Experience of Students at Uganda Christian University who are Mothers of Young Children: A Case Study(Uganda Christian University, 2023) Doreen NinaItem The Determinants of Drug Abuse Among the Adolescent Youth of Mukono District(Uganda Christian University, 2023-09-21) Desire MujwisaThis study investigated the determinants of drug abuse among adolescents in secondary schools in Mukono municipality. Specific objectives were (i) To investigate the prevalence of drug abuse among adolescents in secondary schools in Mukono Municipality, (ii) to establish the determinants of drug abuse among adolescents in secondary schools in Mukono Municipality and (iii) to assess the strategies in place to address drug abuse among adolescents in secondary schools in Mukono Municipality. A cross sectional research design was adopted with a mixed method data collection approach. Quantitative data was collected from 90 students and qualitative data from ten (10) key study participants using the questionnaire and interviews. Data was analyzed using the SPSS-Parson Correlations Product Moment and thematic analysis for quantitative and qualitative data respectively. Findings indicated that the drug abuse prevalence was at 94.4% among the adolescents in school; family background, environmental, peer pressure determined drug abuse among adolescents and different strategies were provided to address the problem of drug abuse. It was concluded that the prevalence was high at 94.4%; peer pressure, family background and the environment influenced drug abuse; counseling, rehabilitation and treatment can be used to deal with drug abuse. The study recommends daily counseling as a way to reduce this phenomenon and improve students’ behavior in education institutions, as well as advising students to take drugs/alcohol lightly while in school and at school and the government through the Ministry of Education and Sports should impose strict laws about alcohol selling in Uganda among mostly to the adolescents in schoolItem Effectiveness of Family Support on Patient Utilization of HIV/AIDS Services at Kajjansi Health Centre IV in Wakiso District.(Uganda Christian University, 2023-09-26) Zion AinembabaziThe study dwelled to understand the effectiveness of family support on patient utilization of HIV/AIDS services at Kajjansi Health Canter IV in Wakiso. The study sought to fulfill the following objectives: to establish the role of family physiological support on patient utilization of HIV/AIDS services at Kajjansi Health Center: to establish the role of emotional support on patient utilization of HIV/AIDS and to establish the role of family support on patient utilization of HIV/AIDS. The study used a mixed- method research design to come to the findings of the objectives. The target population was 100 respondents; however, the sample size reduced this to 80 respondents using the Morgan formula. The study used both primary and secondary data sources to gather data. The study used the questionnaire and the interview guide as research tools to collect data. Data collected was analyzed using quick summary for qualitative data and excel for quantitative data. The researcher ensured professional research ethics of confidentiality, respect and consent of the respondents, however the researcher encountered financial constraints and language barrier in the line of the study as limitation but the researcher overcame the limitation by seeking financial assistance from parents and using an interpreter to curb language barrier. The study had a 100% response rate, much as there were more male respondents represented by 57% than their female counterparts represented by 43%. The majority of the respondents had an academic qualification of University level represented by 57% of the respondents. The findings of the study indicated that there was a positive correlation between role of the family emotional support on the utilization of HIV/services, the study further indicated a linear correlation between the role of family social support on patient utilization of HIV/AIDS services. Further the study indicated that physiological family informational support on patient utilization of HIV/AIDS services was an important role since the majority of the respondents strongly agreed and agreed to the statement. In conclusion the study found out that all dimensions of the independent variable were greatly influential to the dependent variable which stated utilization of HIV/AIDS services. The study recommended family support programs, training and education of family members and easy informational flow between the HIV/AIDS patients and family support. In the nutshell the study drew that future research should ensure to answer questions of tracking patients experience and perception of family support.Item The Impact of Child Sponsorship on the Welfare of Sponsored Children: A Case Study of Compassion International Bweyogerere, Wakiso, Uganda(Uganda Christian University, 2023-09-28) Elvis NsambaChild sponsorship programs are initiatives run by various non-profit organizations and charities to support and improve the lives of children in need. These programs aim to provide financial assistance and essential resources to children living in poverty or difficult circumstances, typically in developing countries. While the available literature might be limited to only the benefits of Child sponsorship programs on host communities as a form of community development, there is little literature on the role played by child sponsorship projects on the welfare of beneficiaries. Specifically, no such study has been conducted on compassion international in Bweyogerere. Consequently, this research sought to examine the impact of compassion international child sponsorship on the welfare of beneficiaries sponsored under the program. The specific objectives pursued were three: To investigate the impact of child sponsorship on the beneficiaries’ access to formal education, to explore the impact of child sponsorship on the protection of the beneficiary children’s rights in Bweyogerere and to investigate the impact of child sponsorship on the social welfare of the beneficiaries in Bweyogerere. A sample of 200 respondents was purposively selected from a population of 500 project beneficiaries, composed of project ongoing students and alumni. Structured questionnaires, document review, beneficiary and key informant interviews and field-based observation were used to collect data. Validity was ensured through expert reviews while reliability analysis was carried out using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. Quantitative data was analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics while qualitative data was transcribed, analyzed and reported. The study concluded that prior to the project many children within the project area of operation did not have access to formal education, their rights were not protected and their social welfare was poor. However, upon being enrolled into compassion international child sponsorship program, the beneficiaries were able to get access to formal education, their rights were protected and their social welfare improved. The study concluded that the compassion international child sponsorship program played a critical role in the welfare of the beneficiaries. The research therefore recommended that compassion international child sponsorship program should improve more on their objectives in order to ensure more effectiveness in accessing formal education, healthcare and food by enrolled beneficiaries.Item Experiences of Caregivers of Children With Disabilities at Bishop West Primary School, Mukono(Uganda Christian University, 2023-09-29) Busimo KayeThe study examined the experiences of caregivers of children with disabilities at Bishop West Primary School, Mukono. The study was guided by objectives which included; establishing the attitude of caregivers towards children with disabilities, finding out the challenges caregivers of children with disabilities face and establishing the copying mechanisms of caregivers to children with disabilities. The study was carried out using an explanatory research design where a mixed methods research approach was also used. The data were collected using questionnaires and interviews and during the data collection, both purposive and simple random sampling methods were used. A sample size of 52 respondents who were parents of children with disabilities in Bishop West P/S and caregivers of children with disabilities at the school was also used in the study. The study findings revealed a generally positive attitude among caregivers towards children with disabilities, with caregivers expressing comfort in interacting with these children and recognizing their enriching diversity. However, significant challenges persist, including limited access to essential educational resources, communication barriers with school staff, financial burdens, and social stigma. Caregivers employ various coping mechanisms, such as building support networks, engaging in self-care, advocating for their children, and participating in workshops and support groups, to address these challenges. While the school community exhibits inclusivity, there remains room for improvement in supporting children with disabilities and their caregivers. Enhancing awareness and addressing these challenges can contribute to a more inclusive and supportive educational environment for children with disabilities at Bishop West Primary School. Finally, the study recommended that Bishop West Primary School should enhance educational resource accessibility, promote effective communication between caregivers and school staff, expand extracurricular opportunities, explore financial support options for families with children with disabilities, continue disability awareness efforts, provide support networks and counseling, promote parent-teacher collaboration, and implement regular assessments and feedback mechanisms to improve support systems for children with disabilities and their caregivers.Item The Effectiveness of the Education Sponsorship Program on the Achievement of Basic Needs Among the Vulnerable Children of Life With Hope Ministries Bombo.(Uganda Christian University, 2023-09-29) Grace MbabaziThis is a dissertation report that shoes the effectiveness of the education sponsorship program on the attaining of basic needs among the vulnerable children of Life with Hope Ministries Bombo. It focuses on how the program has helped the Life with Hope clients navigate through life through their education to attain basic needs and how they survived without the education program plus the long-term influence of the program on the attaining of basic needs.Item Evaluation of the Livelihood Support Program on Poverty Reduction Among Women: A Case Study of the Empowerment Action Program (Teap) in Mukono District.(Uganda Christian University, 2023-10-03) Justine NabuloThe research dissertation is about the study of livelihood support program on poverty reduction among women in Total village, Mukono district. The main purpose of the study was to evaluate the influence of Livelihood support program on poverty reduction among women in Mukono. The specific objectives were: to find out the contributions of vocational training on poverty reduction among women; examine if income generation grants has contributed positively on their development and establish whether savings have improved among women participating in the program. A total of 24 respondents who have an experience from the livelihood support program for more than one year were selected from the total population of 40 participants who have taken part in the program for over a year. Four (4) officials were the key informants. The study has established that livelihood support program through vocational training, income-generation grants and savings has positive influence on poverty reduction by improving on income generations, employment and business development. The findings show that women who are participating in this program have been empowered and their lives and those of their family members have been greatly improved leading to reduced poverty. The findings of the study were presented in form of tables and percentages and the interpretations are given below the tables. However, the study recommends that there is need for tailored support programs that are sensitive to the diverse needs and context of participants, holistic approach, Gender-inclusive Empowerment and so on for the effectiveness of the program.Item The Effects of Government Loans on Youth Empowerment: A Case Study of Youth Livelihood Program, Jinja(Uganda Christian University, 2023-10-03) Elisha GomeThis research was contacted on a topic entitled “The Effects of Government Loans on Youth Empowerment, A case study of Youth Livelihood Program, Jinja District”. It was carryout an assessment on the government loans if they helped to empower the youth. For example, like acquiring the knowledge and skills from the different projects that were operating such as poultry keeping, brick laying, piggery rearing, hair dressing, carpentry and many others. These were some of the research findings when I went to collect data from the area of the study which was Jinja District. The study involved three (3) of its objectives that is; to establish the effect of training and sensitization on promotion of youth empowerment in Jinja District, to establish the effect of stakeholder mobilization on the promotion of youth empowerment in Jinja District, to establish the challenges facing youth entrepreneurs while accessing government loans in Jinja District and the details were presented in the descriptive statistics shown by the frequency and percentage and the level of agreement represented in the tables. The majority of the respondents were in the age bracket of between 18-25 years and 26-34 years. 60 years and above represented the least of the respondents. The age group represented by 25.0%, 43.8% and 2.5% respectively. It can therefore be concluded that the majority of the respondents were in the most productive age brackets of their life, with young brains ready to run livelihood programs that can change their standards of living and are reasonably able to learn new skills and knowledge for a better living. The research findings also revealed that 62.5% of the respondents were males and 37.5% were female. This indicated that there is no balance of both women and men who get involved in the youth livelihood programs of Jinja district since even the youth leaders, focal point persons and DCDO were all men. However, since men continue to dominate as seen by the high number of men engaged in youth livelihood programs compared to women, this calls for further sensitization of women youths to encourage them join youth livelihood programs so as to change their standards of living. The findings represent the views of the two sex groups about the “effects of government loans on youth empowerment with a case study of youth livelihood programs in Jinja district.” This was necessary for the study to get a balanced picture of the respondents’ viewsItem Awareness of Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV Among S.4 Adolescents in Bishop Secondary School in Mukono(Uganda Christian University, 2023-10-03) Pevin Maria NansikombiThe study dwelled to the awareness of the prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV among adolescent girls. The study established to be guided by the following objectives: to identify the preventive measure in the avoidance of mother to child transmission of, to find out the challenges faced in the awareness of the prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV, to find out the relationship between the awareness programs and the prevention of mother to child transmission. The study was guided by the ecological system theory in undertaking the literature review. The study used a mixed method research design. The study had a study population of 70 respondents, from which it got the sample size which was 40 respondents. The study used a questionnaire and an interview guide in collecting data while embracing the research ethics of respect, confidentiality and consent. The study had limitations that were resolved. The study had a response rate of 100%. Where the majority of the respondents had secondary level academic qualification with a representation of 53.3%. The study drew findings in the precedent chapter and interpreted the findings in the tabular form. Further the study discussed the findings of the study with interpretation and relation to the literature review. Finally, the study gave feasible recommendation, conclusion while aligning the areas of further researchItem The Effect of Women's Empowementand Realization of Their Rights: A Case Study of Nasuuti Sub-County, Mukono District(Uganda Christian University, 2023-10-04) Harriet Juan Wani OmbasaThis study investigates the Relationship between the Promotion of Women's Empowerment and the Realization of their Rights in Nasuti Sub-County, Mukono District. The research assesses the perspectives of respondents on key statements related to women's empowerment and rights. The findings from Table 4.5 indicate that a significant proportion of respondents strongly agree that women have equal opportunities as men and that opportunities for women have been established to promote their empowerment and rights. However, the study also reveals a lack of consensus on whether the provision of capital to women effectively promotes empowerment and rights. Additionally, the study explores possible solutions to the challenges facing the promotion of women's empowerment and realization of their rights in the same region. Table 4.6 illustrates that enhancing women's skills and providing them with education and capital are perceived as viable solutions. However, there is uncertainty among respondents regarding the importance of proper sensitization. Furthermore, the research identifies the major challenges hindering women's empowerment and rights in Table 4.7. Respondents strongly agree that increasing ignorance among men and negative perceptions about women's education are significant challenges. Unequal access to education is also recognized as a key barrier, while domestic violence is acknowledged as a concern but not universally agreed upon.This study concludes by emphasizing the importance of addressing these challenges to enhance women's empowerment and rights in Nasuti Sub-County, Mukono District. It suggests that efforts should focus on providing women with skills and education, dispelling negative perceptions, and addressing gender-based violence. These findings have implications for policy and program development to promote gender equality and women's rights.Item Counseling Interventions for Domestic Violence Cases Among Young Adult Couples: A Case of Kira Police Division Station(Uganda Christian University, 2023-10-05) Patience MirembeThe study sought to investigate the counseling interventions for domestic violence cases among young adult couples using a case of Kira police division station. It was guided by three objectives namely; to find out the factors that contribute to the increase of domestic violence cases among young adult couples, to determine the most prevalent type of counseling intervention among young adult couples and to assess the effectiveness of counseling interventions in reducing cases of domestic violence among young adult couples. The study used a cross sectional research design using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Simple random and Purposive sampling techniques were used to select a sample of 24 respondents. Data was collected using questionnaires and interview guide. The results show that several factors contribute to domestic violence cases among young adult couples which were financial constraints, untreated mental health issues, lack of effective communication, unrealistic expectations and resistance to change. The counselor centered and client centered counseling interventions were widely used as prevalent type of counseling intervention among young adult couples. The effectiveness of counseling interventions in reducing cases of domestic violence among young adult couples included temporary relief, Couples are in position to make informed decisions, reduction in future consequences, promotion of harmony among the couples and making couples appreciate each other. The study recommends that there is need for the young adult couples to continue seeking for the counseling services as they can address some of the challenges they are faced with, the need for the police to increase on resources for family Unit of the police and massive sensitization in the communities about the dangers of domestic violence and look for the ways to address them.Item Covid 19 and Domestic Violence Against Women: A Case Study of Bugujju Village, Mukono Municipality(Uganda Christian University, 2023-10-05) Majorine AberThis study was carried out on Covid 19 and Domestic Violence on Women in Bugujju, Mukono. Very many women are challenged by domestic violence especially during the lockdown. A case in point, a woman was denied money to buy food for the family by her husband which forced her to raise this concern and was physically abused by her husband. This also affected the children as well. Violence can be brutal and fatal to the victims as it causes psychological, physical and emotional breakdown. Before the pandemic cases of domestic violence that were reported were many. The study is expected to help the researcher in the fulfillment of the requirements for a Bachelor’s degree of Social Work and Social Administration of Uganda Christian University.Item Ocio-Economic Determinants of Feeding Habits of University Students: A Case of Uganda Christian University Mukono District(Uganda Christian University, 2023-10-05) Fhidwin IttaThis study was about “socio- economic determinants of feeding habits of university students in the case of Uganda Christian University Mukono District.” The objectives of the study were to find out feeding habits of university students, to Identify barriers related to the feeding habits of university students, to find out the enablers of feeding habits of university students. A case study design was used to select a sample size of 40 respondents. Purposive and simple random sampling procedures were used. Data was collected using questionnaires and interviews; it was later analyzed and presented using tables. The findings indicate that, as regards to feeding habits of university students most respondents (80%) were the students an indication that Uganda Christian University in Mukono District has intelligent students. The study further established various factors that influence the feeding habits of university students.Item The Attitudes of Women Towards Family Planning Practices in Reproductive Health in Mukono, Kauga Village, Uganda(Uganda Christian University, 2023-10-06) Rapha NaumeThis study explored the attitudes of women towards family planning practices in reproductive health in Kauga Village, Mukono, Uganda. The specific objectives of the study included; examining the factors that influence women's attitudes towards family planning services, assessing the knowledge and attitudes of women regarding family planning, and identifying the challenges women face while accessing family planning services. The research employs a cross-sectional study design to gather comprehensive insights into these aspects. The findings of the study revealed that the factors influencing women's attitudes towards family planning services are economic factors, health concerns, partner's opinions, and religious beliefs. barriers such as lack of information or access, cultural norms, and fear of side effects, personal experiences, cultural and religious beliefs, and peer influence,access to information and the ease of accessing services were deemed essential, emphasizing the importance of making family planning information and services readily available, especially in rural areas. The study assessed knowledge and attitudes regarding family planning among respondents. While a majority of participants reported having a moderate understanding of family planning, there was room for improvement, with a significant proportion rating their knowledge as fair or poor. Most respondents recognized family planning as a positive practice for women's health, highlighting its significance in improving women's well-being. Various sources of information, including healthcare providers, family planning clinics, community health workshops, and online resources, contributed to knowledge dissemination, underscoring the importance of utilizing diverse channels for education. The study indicated the challenges faced by women when accessing family planning services in Kauga Village, Mukono such as limited access to family planning clinics in rural areas, stigma and judgment from healthcare providers, long waiting times, limited contraceptive options, cultural and religious beliefs discouraging family planning, high costs, lack of privacy, and concerns about side effects. To improve family planning practices and support in the community, recommendations include enhancing accessible family planning clinics, sensitizing healthcare providers to reduce stigma, expanding contraceptive options, and launching community-based educational programs to raise awareness and dispel myths. In conclusion, if implemented collaboratively by stakeholders including healthcare providers, community organizations, and policymakers, have the potential to enhance family planning awareness, education, and accessibility in Kauga Village, ultimately leading to improved reproductive health outcomes and overall well-being for women in the community.Item Analyzing the Effectiveness of Health Outreach Programs in Enhancing Access to Friendly Health Services in Urban Slum Areas: A Case Study of the Uganda Red Cross Society(Uganda Christian University, 2023-10-06) Annet KyomugishaThis study examined the effectiveness of health outreach programs in enhancing access to friendly health services in urban slum areas, with a specific focus on the Uganda Red Cross Society. The study's objectives were to assess the current utilization rates of health outreach services, identify the main barriers and challenges faced by urban slum residents in accessing healthcare services, and measure the extent to which the Uganda Red Cross Society's health outreach programs contributed to early detection and prevention of common health conditions. In This study used a cross-sectional study design was used. The findings of the study indicated that 75.0% of respondents had accessed health outreach services provided by the Uganda Red Cross Society, reflecting commendable community engagement. However, 25.0% had not utilized these services, suggesting the need for expanded outreach efforts to reach all community members. The frequency of utilization varied, with 50.0% using the services several times a year, 33.33% once or twice a year, and 16.67% rarely or not at all. Specific health services accessed included immunizations, basic health check-ups, health education, and treatment of common illnesses. While there was overall satisfaction with service accessibility, there was room for improvement to meet the needs of urban slum residents. The study identified barriers to accessing healthcare services, including financial constraints, limited facility accessibility, and a lack of awareness about available services. Stigma, transportation challenges, long waiting times, and language barriers were also reported obstacles. These findings underscored the need for targeted interventions to improve healthcare equity in urban slum areas. Regarding the impact of health outreach programs, 66.67% of respondents reported receiving health education or screening services that helped detect health conditions early. Health education and awareness were the most frequently received services, followed by treatment of common illnesses and immunizations. Half of the respondents personally experienced early detection of health conditions due to program participation, demonstrating the programs' role in preventive healthcare. Additionally, a significant proportion believed that these programs had contributed to a reduction in common health conditions in their community. In conclusion, the study highlighted the importance of healthcare outreach programs, emphasizing their role in enhancing the well-being of urban slum communities. To improve healthcare access, recommendations included expanding outreach efforts to reach all residents, addressing barriers such as financial constraints and limited facility accessibility, and enhancing health education initiatives within outreach programs. Collaborative efforts between organizations, local authorities, and the community were essential in implementing these recommendations and ensuring equitable healthcare access for urban slum residents.Item Factors Influencing Family Planning Practices Among Women in Goma Division Mukono Municipality(Uganda Christian University, 2023-10-10) Sarah KiconcoThe study was about examining the factors influencing family planning practices among women in Goma Division Mukono Municipality and its objectives were: to examine the knowledge and awareness of different family planning methods among women in Goma Division, Mukono Municipality, to assess the socio-economic factors that influences the utilization of family planning services among women in Goma Division, Mukono Municipality and to explore the barriers and challenges faced in accessing and utilization of family planning services by women in Goma Division Mukono Municipality. The study adopted a case study research design. A sample size of 38 respondents was selected using simple random sampling and purposive sampling technique to select the respondents. Data was collected using interviews and observation methods and the collected data was analyzed using an excel template. The findings of the study show that the largest group of the respondents 34% was between ages 20 and 25 years, 41% had completed secondary education, 7% had no formal education, 10.3% had no employment, 14% had 6 or more children and 7% had no children. The findings further reveal that the level of knowledge and awareness regarding family planning methods is high and also respondents indicated that they and their spouses or partners jointly made decisions about family planning. Therefore the study recommends that there is need to consider the women’s specific circumstances when designing family planning programs and also efforts should be made to make contraceptives and family planning services more affordable, particularly for economically disadvantaged individuals.Item The Effect of General Food Assistance Program on the Social Stability of Refugees in Rhino Refugee Settlement Terego District, Uganda(Uganda Christian University, 2023-10-11) Gift RobertThe study examined the effects of general food assistance program on the social stability of refugees in Rhino camp settlement Terego District. It specifically focused on; establishing the effect of General Food Assistance Program (GFA) on relationship between married men and married women in rhino camp settlement, the effect of General Food Assistance Program on relation between children and family in rhino camp settlement and the effect of General Food Assistance Program on the relation between the refugees and the community in rhino camp settlement.The study was carried out using qualitative and quantitative research design. The data was collected using questionnaires and interviews during the data collection, simple random sampling methods were used. A sample size of 80 respondents who are; husbands, wives, children and the youths in Rhino Camp Settlement in Terego district, Uganda was used.The study’s comprehensive exploration of the effects of the General Food Assistance Program (GFA) revealed its transformative influence across various dimensions of relationships within the community. Couples benefit from enhanced decision-making dynamics, reduced conflict, and shifted gender roles, while families experience reduced stress, improved well-being, and strengthened bonds improving the social wellbeing of the refugees. Additionally, the GFA program fosters community cohesion, though challenges such as resource competition and cultural adjustments must be navigated. By highlighting both positive outcomes and potential pitfalls, the study underscores the importance of proactive measures such as equitable resource distribution and cultural sensitivity training to ensure the program's long-term positive impact on relationships within the community.Finally, the study recommended several key actions to enhance the impact of the general food assistance program on the social stability of refugees in Rhino Camp Settlement Terego District. These recommendations include promoting gender equity and empowerment, fostering open communication and transparency, offering cultural sensitivity training, supporting joint community initiatives, implementing emotional well-being and conflict resolution programs, hosting cultural exchange events, ensuring equitable resource allocation, and establishing continuous monitoring and evaluation processes to sustain program benefits and address emerging challenges.Item How Sexual Violence Affects the Physical Well-Being of Adolescent Girls: A Case of Kirinya Village, Kiira Municipality(Uganda Christian University, 2023-10-11) Phionah KukundaThe study was about how sexual violence affects the physical wellbeing of adolescent girls in Kirinya village Kiira municipality. and its objectives were, to explore how sexual violence has affected the physical wellbeing of adolescent girls, To identify how sexual violence has affected the mental wellbeing of the adolescent girls, To find out how victims of sexual violence can be helped to recover from the effected of sexual violence, research methods were quantitative and qualitative techniques ,the findings from the study showed that sexual violence led to post traumatic stress disorder. This was represented whereby 40% of the respondents strongly agreed to the statement while 46.7 % of the respondents agreed to the same statement. Generally, the findings from the study revealed that sexual violence of adolescent’s girls in Kirinya village is a public health problem despite that majority of respondents were aware of sexual violence and their consequences. The findings from the study indicate a variance between the specific objective and the study topic.as it showed a positive correlation between sexual violence and the physical well-being of adolescents. Knowledge on preventive methods is still low.
